Aki Olavi Kaurismäki, born 04.04.1957, is a Finnish screenwriter and film director. His most famous and viewed film in Finland and abroad is The Man Without a Past.. published 2002. Kaurismäki is known for his extremely minimalistic style. The dialogue is famously laconic. He has been called an auteur, since he writes, directs, produces and usually edits the films himself.
